Not every browser implements the Web Speech recognition API. A current Chromium-based browser often provides the broadest support.

Yes. The browser must receive explicit permission before it can capture audio for transcription.
Can I adjust how fast text is spoken?
Yes. Use the speaking-rate slider to slow playback to 0.5× or increase it up to 2×.
