What image quality should I choose?
Around 75–85% is a useful starting range for web photos; inspect the preview and lower it gradually if a smaller file matters more.
Why did my PNG not get much smaller?
PNG encoding is lossless and does not use the quality setting like JPG or WebP. Photographic PNGs often compress better after conversion to WebP or JPG.
Does compression change image dimensions?
No. This tool keeps the original pixel width and height; use Image Resizer when dimensions also need to change.
Which format is best for transparency?
PNG and WebP can preserve transparency. JPG cannot and may replace transparent areas with a solid background.
